The Orlando Farmer’s Market – Serving Up Delicious Eats and Unique Finds Every Week

A view of the various booths lining the sidewalk filled with many people

This weekend we decided to trek into Downtown Orlando and check out the weekly farmer’s market. This farmer’s market occurs every Sunday from 10am-3pm and is located by the beautiful Lake Eola.

Overall Impression

We had a wonderful time checking out all the booths, and of course, grabbing some yummy food and drinks! The Orlando Farmer’s Market has upwards of 30 booths that include freshly prepared food & drink, clothing, packaged foods, bathroom products and handmade treats for your dogs. The one disappointment in the market was that there was only one booth that sells fresh produce. I was planning on doing most of my weekly grocery shopping while at the market, but there was limited selection for produce and other fresh foods (like eggs, meats, dairy, etc.).

The lack of produce booths did not stop us from having a great time though. There is such a wide variety of shopping options, and you can still stock up on some great products at this market. There were booths that sold dip mixes, olive oil, soap, honey, dog treats, coffee, fudge and so much more!

These were just a few of the booths at the market. The yellow car was an adorable flower shop that seemed to be quite the hit! The van had slim pickings when we walked by towards the end of the market. Next up, there was a mini pancake booth that was selling mini pancakes topped with a variety of toppings. The last one has unique jerky options including kangaroo, alligator and elk and you can stop by and get a free sample. Almost all of the booths were giving out free samples and were more than happy to answer any questions you might have.

Our Market Selections

After rounding the market a few times, we decided to try some empanadas from the La Combi booth. We got 3 empanadas for $10 and chose the following flavors: Hawaiian, Ham & Cheese, and Blue Cheese and Sweet Onion. These were delicious and the chimichurri sauce that came with them was amazing! You can purchase the sauce at the booth for $6 and I was very tempted! Our favorite was the Blue Cheese and Sweet Onion (it was so yummy; my mouth is watering just thinking of it now). My second favorite was Hawaiian, followed by Ham & Cheese.

There are lots of other food options as well, including paella, tamales, rice bowls, salads, and acai bowls. I think that everyone in your family would be able to find something they wanted. Then you can take your food selections to the picnic area in the middle of the market to enjoy your food. We opted to sit in the shade of a tree in a nearby grassy area.

We continued perusing around the market, but since it is Florida, we quickly decided it was time for a drink. There are numerous options for refreshing drinks, including a very popular stand that sold various fruity frozen beverages that looked amazing! However, we decided on a fresh squeezed lemonade. The booth was very popular, and also sold freshly made kettle corn. The lemonade was very freshly squeezed. In fact, the booth squeezed the lemon right after you ordered your drink and mixed it up specifically for you. The lemonade definitely hit the spot, and it was the perfect balance of sweet, sour and wonderful lemon flavor.

In the Nearby Area

The Orlando Farmer’s Market is located right by Lake Eola and we had a wonderful stroll around the lake after checking out the market. We walked past lots of geese and ducks, and some amazing performers and street artists surrounding the lake. There were numerous areas for you to sit, relax and enjoy the beautiful city! On the other side of the lake, there was even a Fusion Festival going on that had additional booths and live music. We enjoyed people watching and admiring all the adorable dogs. I definitely plan on going back and I am excited to see if the booth selections change very much from week to week.

Thanks for reading and joining me on this adventure to the Orlando Farmer’s Market! I would love to hear from you in the comments below! Happy Travels, Colette.
